The chances are that at some stage in your life you have had to deal with a blocked drain or a blocked toilet; whether it was your kitchen sink, your laundry drain or even your shower. You can’t always avoid these blockages but you can be mindful of what can contribute to a blocked drain or toilet, so that you can adopt a preventative approach.
In general you should try to avoid rinsing hair down the sink, and avoid flushing anything else but toilet paper. Sanitary items, paper towel, and disposable nappies are almost certain to block your system and will require expert help.
A great tip:
If you have a grey water system in place, switch it back to normal sewer draining a few days of every month. This will help flush out your pipe work of debris build up due to the lack of water flow.
